Where did your career in fashion begin?

One of my first internships was NYLON magazine and I always loved being able to build a story through photos and words. I was initially drawn to the access to so much clothing and that’s evolved to being able to explore different sides of myself through personal style. 

Any particular experiences or people that helped shape your career in a meaningful way? 

I would say my boss when I was an intern shaped my career and opened a lot of doors for me within the industry. She recognized how hard I was working and became a mentor for me. I also learned a lot from her about how to be a nice and humble person through this industry. NYLON was one of my first internships and we observed a lot of drama and changes and she was a great role model for how to operate in an environment with integrity. Seeing that has defined how I move through my work and offices as well. 

On the topic of influence, what cultural trends have the most impact on fashion? 

Pop culture, celebrities, and previous trends. I think that it’s symbiotic though, whatever influences fashion, fashion also influences. There’s so much awareness of the relationship now that all of these influences are considered.
